Northern Region Hit By Cold Snap

Upper parts of Thailand are experiencing cold conditions, with Doi Inthanon National Park shrouded this morning in a veil of frost.

Visitors to Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai province are welcomed by morning frost and temperatures which range between 1 and 15 degrees Celsius.

In Nong Khai province, Sky Wall, one of the top-rated sightseeing spots, is packed with Thai and foreign tourists who come to observe the daily sea of fog. The temperature here today was 16 degrees.

In Loei province, tourists continue to crowd natural attractions such as Phu Kradueng National Park, Phu Rua National Park, Phu Bo Bit Park in Chiang Khan subdistrict. Temperatures are being recorded at 6-11 degrees in mountainous areas and 9-14 degrees in low-lying areas.

In Bueng Kan province, military doctors and volunteers are visiting local communities to offer free health checkups and medical services as well as giving out blankets to the underprivileged.

Meanwhile, in the southern part of Thailand, fishermen have been asked to stay ashore until November 8th as waves at present could be as high as three meters in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
